Acceptable Visa Types
For a non-permanent resident alien to qualify for a loan, s/he must provide evidence of a valid passport with an acceptable visa classification. Acceptable visa classifications are shown below.

E-1 | Non-Permanent Resident | Treaty Trader. Individuals in the U.S. to conduct trade under a treaty between their country and the U.S. and key employees of companies trading under such treaty.

E-2 | Non-Permanent Resident | Treaty Investor: Individuals in the U.S. to develop or direct the operations of an enterprise in which they have invested substantial investments. Must be based on a treaty between visa holder’s country and the U.S.

E-3 | Non-Permanent Resident | Australian Treaty Alien. Australian national in U.S solely to work in specialty occupation

G-1 through G-4 | Non-Permanent Resident | Representative of International Organization. Individuals in the U.S. as representatives of an international organization and their dependents.

H-1b | Non-Permanent Resident | Temporary Worker in a Specialty Occupation. Individuals in the U.S. to perform professional services in a specific position for a fixed period of time.

H-1c | Non-Permanent Resident | Registered Nurse. Individuals in the U.S. to perform professional nursing services for a specific employer for a specified period of time.

K-3 | Spouse of a U.S. Citizen (LIFE Act) | Spouse of a U.S. Citizen.

L-1a | Non-Permanent Resident | Intra-company Transferee. Individuals in the U.S. who have been transferred from a subsidiary, affiliate, or mortgage branch office overseas to the U.S. to work in an executive, managerial, or specialist capacity.

L-1b | Non-Permanent Resident | Intra-company Transferee. Individuals in the U.S. who have been transferred from a subsidiary affiliate or mortgage branch office overseas to the U.S. to work in a position requiring specialized knowledge.

O-1 | Non-Permanent Resident | Workers with Extraordinary Abilities or Achievement.

P-1 | Non-Permanent Resident | Internationally Recognized Athlete, Entertainment Group, or Essential Support Personnel.

R-1 | Non-Permanent Resident | Religious Worker.
|
TN | Non-Permanent Resident | Trade NAFTA. Professional from Canada or Mexico who enters the U.S. under the NAFTA agreements. Individuals in the U.S. to perform professional services for a sponsoring employer in a specific position for a fixed period of time.

TC NAFTA | Non-Permanent Resident | Used by Canadian Citizens for professional or business purposes. |
